Hot Yoga Practice Guide (Half Moon Hands to Feet)

Hot Yoga Practice Guide (Half Moon Hands to Feet)

Today I will share with you some tips for the first set of 3 poses of the Hot Yoga series:

Half Moon and Hands to Feet.

Half Moon

Begin with feet together, arms down side

Arms over head sideways, interlock all ten fingers, release the index fingers, thumbs crossed

Special notes on Half moon side bend:

Keeping the body in one straight line, bending to the side. Focus on lengthening and stretching more than compression of the opposite side, lean back and keep the weight on the heels

10 Fingers interlocked position, no gap between palms, no gap between arms and ears

Half moon backbend:

Special notes on Half moon backbend:

Make sure the weight is on the heels, keep stretching the arms, locking elbows, the stronger you can stretch your arms, the deeper and safer your backbend will go, continue to keep the palms together using strong finger grip

Hands to feet:

Special notes on Hands to feet:

Bend the knees as much as needed to grab the heels from behind, little baby fingers touching each other side by side.

If it’s not possible to grab the heels, grab the calves and try to work your way down to grab the heels eventually, make sure to keep the elbows behind the legs

Absolutely no gap between stomach and thighs, if there is a gap, you need to bend the knees to close the gap and stretch again from there, any attempt to stretch by lifting stomach off the thighs will create pressure on the lower back
